The Career Hauora resource is designed to scaffold learning and career action each year, providing students with practical tools, activities and information to:
- Reduce career anxiety
- Prepare students for life after school
- Empower our young people to live their best life
Year 13 students will be focused on their own individual career journey beyond school. With a full career hauora kete, it’s time to paddle their waka out into the ocean of life (hoea tō waka).

Overview
In this unit students are introduced to careers, career hauora and become an active participant in their own career journey. This unit sees students actively researching career options, identifying what needs to be done and setting goals to ensure everything they need is in place before they leave school. It’s time to dig in and go hard on the career preparation mahi – kia tere, kia kaha, hoea tō waka!
