Year 10 Career Hauora
Moving Forward – Hoea!
The Career Hauora resource is designed to scaffold learning and career action each year, providing students with practical tools, activities and information to:
- Reduce career anxiety
- Prepare students for life after school
- Empower our young people to live their best life
At Year 10 students are given the tools to start paddling (hoea!). Students will be introduced to pathways they may not be aware of and start exploring career options to help with school subject choices heading into the senior school years.

Moving Forward – Hoea!
Overview
In this unit students are introduced to careers, career hauora and become an active participant in their own career journey. The first part of the career journey involves helping students identify who they are, where their strengths lie, and how their current role as a student and the skills and knowledge they will collect along the way is building the foundations for their career ahead. Hoea! = it’s time to start paddling on your career journey!
